Enter the one-time code
An administrator can turn on Require Verification Code at Login for a user. Only those users see this step. If your account does not have it on, you never see it.
When it is on, Winlium emails you a 6-digit code as soon as your password is accepted. The screen changes to Check your email. It says "Enter the 6-digit verification code we just sent you".

| Field | Type | Required | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verification code | Text (numbers) | Yes | Exactly 6 digits. Errors: "Enter the 6-digit code" and "Code must be 6 digits". |
Rules for the code:
- The code works for 15 minutes.
- You have 5 wrong tries. After the fifth wrong try the code stops working, even if you then type the right one.
- A code works once.
- There is no Resend button. To get a new code, select Back to login, then sign in again with your email and password. Winlium sends a fresh code and the old one stops working.
- Each new sign-in attempt counts toward a limit. Winlium allows about 5 sign-in attempts and 5 code attempts in 15 minutes. If you hit the limit, wait and try again later.
What happens after you sign in
Winlium decides where to send you.
| Your situation | Where you land |
|---|---|
| You belong to one company | The Home screen, or your favourite module if you saved one. |
| You belong to more than one company and Winlium remembers the last one you used | That company. The Home screen, or your favourite module. |
| You belong to more than one company and Winlium has no remembered company | The Choose a company screen. See Choose a company. |
| You are the first user of a new workspace and no company exists yet | The first-company set-up screen. See Choose a company. |
| An administrator has not given you a role yet | The Home screen with the message "Welcome — your account is being set up". See Navigating the app. |
Favourite module
On the Home screen, each module card has a star in its top-right corner. Select the star to save that module as your quick launch page. The next time you sign in, Winlium opens that module instead of Home. Select the star again to remove it. Winlium shows a short message: Favourite Saved, Favourite Updated or Favourite Removed.
The "Welcome back" popup
If you have unread notifications, a popup called Welcome back appears a moment after the next screen opens. It says "You have 3 unread notifications waiting for you." (The number is an example.) You have two choices:
- Select View notifications to open your notifications page.
- Select Go to dashboard to close the popup.
The popup does not appear when you have no unread notifications. It also does not appear when you were sent to Choose a company first.
